Irtans USB Module .rm file compatibility with LIRC .conf

Postby VEILLARD MICHEL » Fri 5. Apr 2013, 09:43

On one side, I have an IR Trans USB module connected to my PC (working with Windows XP) that I want to use to learn IR codes from my own remote control.
I’ve done one trial with the IR Trans module (in the learn normal mode) to acquire some codes that you can find herafter (.rm example)

On the other side, I have an application on an Android phone (nammed IRDroid) able to generate IR codes with an external output audio jack adapter.
But this application only support the file format used by the LIRC (as an example of the format, I've joined a Sony file.conf taken from http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/).

[b]Unfortunately, I don’t know how to transform the .rm (IRTrans) file format towards the .conf (LIRC) format.
The aim for me is to use IR codes acquired from I Trans as an input to my Android application

Could you indicate me how to proceed ?

On your web site you give some information concerning WinLIRC and IR Trans compatibility but it telles nothing about files compatibility?

“WinLIRC. The IRTrans System is compatible with LIRC and WinLIRC. That means all clients with LIRC or WinLIRC interfaces can be used with the IRTrans system. LIRC or WinLIRC do not need to be installed. As the LIRC / WinLIRC interface is part of the IRTrans server no additional software is needed.”

PS: I’ve launched WinLIRC but I didn’t find any dll in the configuration menu concerning IRtrans module

Thanks,
Michel

We have no documentation on how IR codes are stored in LIRC. In particular there is nothing about how the .conf files are composed.
Therefore it is not possible to convert codes learnt with IRTrans (let's call it "in the IRTrans format") to LIRC and vice versa.

Compatibility to LIRC is only advertised for LIRC clients with our IRServer which means the codes are stored in our software and the LIRC client only requests code names but not code data.
