IRTrans WiFi loses connection / stops responding

Postby Amebrindra » Thu 5. May 2011, 07:35

Hello!
I got the IRTrans WiFi. I have a problem with the device stops responding / loses its WLAN connection and doesnt reconnect. IRTrans tray cant connect and the device stops responding to PING. reseting the power and the device gets accessable in 10-20 seconds again.
When the device is restartd it can take 10 minutes to 20 hours b4 this happens again and I have to reset power. Since I got the device it hasnt been able to work for more than 24 hours straight without a restart.

My router Dlink DI-524 works great with my other WLAN devices and is setup with no security about 7 meter from IRTrans device, my laptop shows strong signal strength standing next to IRTrans device.

WiFI versin: R1.3.4

Hi,
that is very unusual.

What does the WLAN Status LED (next to the connectors on the side of the device) show?

Its glowing green when working and when not working also green. After reset that same LED goes red - green - lights out a few seconds - red - green (and stays green).
I can see through the casing that there is a green LED glowing inside of the device at all time.

Hi,
please try to set the speed of the IRTrans to 11 or 5 MBps.

Hi,

I believe this could be the same issue - it only happens with the new IRTrans units and not our existing ones:

New Version info (black Branded IRTrans):

MAC Address
00-23-A7-1B-C8-61

WiFi Version
R1.3.4

IR Version
W6.06.30

Old Version Info (White unbranded IRTrans):

MAC Address
00-23-A7-00-88-1C

WiFi Version
R1.3.3

IR Version
W6.05.51

I've uploaded a video of the issue http://clients.lukerhodes.net/atapp/irtrans.mov

I'm unsure which setting you're talking about in the above post or where to set it so I've been unable to try it.

Thanks

Hi,
the speed can be set via the IRTrans GUI Client. It is on the same page as the settings for WiFi SSID or password.

Of course you can also contact us via Email in case that does not help.

Hi,
in the meantime we do have a firmware update for the WiFi transmitter module. It should fix all connection problems.

To get it please send us an Email to info@irtrans.de.

We will need to know the exact hardware version of your device.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my IRTrans WiFi. It stops responding on http after a couple of days and then I had to reboot the device. I changed the speed from auto to 11 and then it was running for more than a week but now it has stopped responding again. Is there any firmware update to fix this problem?
